absolutely awesome tool!
Great improvements and excellent stability.
I would suggest some modifications on your latest release.
When you double click the answer key you run the risk to make a call to the last number called. I think it is bettere change the key, for example double click on 1 key.
It would be appreciate more numbers of alert sounds, for example mobile, fixed, redlight, etc.
I have also done a translation of ScLang.txt in italian language, how can I upload it to you?
Thanks for your great job.

leider startet das programm aud einem N78 seit version 4.2 nicht mehr
Any info on why I keep on getting a Errno -5 KerrNotSupported on my E65??
KerrNotSupported means that app is trying to use something that is not provided by the phone - see if a firmware update is available
Thanks ever so much for the prompt response - yes, I've already updated the E65 to the latest 2.0633 firmware via nokia pcsuite.
When I install the software I have noticed that it doesn't create a SpeedCam directory on phone or memory card. Also, sometimes when I re-install the software the errno goes away and I get 'No landmarks module' even though I have landmarks, position, navigation, maps etc. installed.
Really eager to get this working tbh because you have a real competitor to the snooper sapphire here.
Hello!
What I explained in the e-mail was that I could not use the menu key to switch between running applications when SpeedCam is running. Nothing happens if I hold that key.
I can open the menu and then select the open application but the switching doesn't works.
I have Nokia N82 with 30.0.019 firmware.
It's not a big problem, just a little bit annoying.
But otherwise I could escape the log with nav. keys.
Otherwise excellent stability and functionality !
Thank you :)
Speedcam folder created on first run of app. Ensure app is signed with all caps before install
Yep, all caps ticked when i used the opensymbian tool :(
I clicked on 'select all'
I've submitted the apps twice each just in case.
Test version 4.2 on my N95 during the weekend. he overlay did not appear at the bottom of my Nokia Maps, but on about the lower third of the screen (take twice the height of the part below the map, put them on top of each other at the bottom. Over this the overlay appeared.)
Press key 2 to switch orientation
First of all a lot of compliments and many many thanks for your work :)
I would like to inform you that i have noticed a possible bug in you app installed on my Nokia 6210 Navigator: it seems that when you close speedcam and all other gps apps
the gps doesn't deactivate and the phone needs to be rebooted to correctly deactivate the gps connection.
thanks again for your work :)
Thanks for your note.
The app doesn't control the gps, the firmware does. Presumably the phone keeps gps on for a while in case you decide to use it again.
Great Job. I just found following differences:
I have a sppeedcam.TXT file with 18.000 velox inside :
- speedcam v2 take 15 seconds to load all the velox
- speedcam v4_2 takes 105 seconds for the same job.
Apart from that your application works well.
Regards
Silvio

Great tool, please make a converter (GPX or KML to speedcam.txt)
Thanks for such an excellent app. Just wanted to check that you knew that SCDB give the impression that they are selling it at
http://www.scdb.info/en/plugin-speedlimit-s60/
You can actually download it without subscribing but its version 1.3.0.
I would ask for some seroius money from them!
They've obviously changed their original link as its now broken on your google page:
http://www.scdb.info/en/plugin-nokia-maps/
Thanks for that. SCDB have my permission. I'll fix the links
Hello. I also sent you by email a suggestion to adapt the program to the Nokia E90. I'll report also here for others to read:
Hello,
when using speedcam with the e90 there is a problem due to the fact that the phone has two screens.
Speedcam at the present version (4.2) automatically adjusts its screen to the internal display dimensions (800x352) but when nokia maps + speedcam is used from the external screen (240x320) - which is by far much more comfortable in a vehicle - its overlay bar can be seen only for its upper left part.
Ideally, the software should sense wether the clamshell is open or closed and adjust its screen accordingly - but more simply there could be a setting in the preferences section to override the internally sensed resolution and impose a new one.
Could you please update your program to ease its use with the e90?
Due to other work, version 4.2 is the final release
Some git appears to be selling your freeware app...
http://www.scdb.info/en/plugin-speedlimit-s60/
They have my permission - they're selling the data rather than the app
Is version 4.2 working with Nokia 5800 ?
No, 5800 is a 5th ed phone, which needs Python 2 which is not yet available
mcbiskits1:
first, thanks a lot for the great app!
i've been using it in combination with nokia maps. is there a way to disable the speedcam splash screen which covers all the routing information in nokia maps? i would like to run speedcam in background without this black box in nokia maps ... it should just pop up when a poi is coming up.
In speedcam press Nav down key - lilac blob is displayed. Maps overlay is now disabled
nice, thanks a lot for the fast answer! i promise, i'm gonna read the manual next time ;-)
Hey Mcbiskits1,
I love your application but am having real trouble following how to add the speed camera data. If i used the lat and long e.g.
37o40'31"S 145o60'21"E how does this translate into the .txt file. It's not written clearly in the .pdf on how to convert this and what really is required in the text field. As my gps is wher eim getting the data of the cameras. If you could explain this that would be great.
Kind Regards Rhyme.
Convert to signed decimal degrees, e.g 37o40'31"S =
-37.6753 (N & W +ve, S & E -ve)
Cannot get this to run on my N95 8GB. Shown as installed but no Speedcam folder on card or phone mem. Click icon in applications will not start program.
instal python
Yes, Python is installed. I have uninstalled & reinstalled to make sure. Still no go I am afraid.
Hi Mr Mcbiskits1,
thanks a lot for your great great job. I use Speed camera in combination on my N96 and it worked fine. I changed in the language text file in the italian version the word kph to kmh and saved it. Now, when I try to open the app there comes "Invalid language file". I changed back but the problem still remains. What can I do? Grazie from northern Italy
Roberto
Hello. Great application!! Thankyou.
Question on sound files... I am unable to get alternative alert sounds to work. A sample of my txt is:
Longitude,Latitude,CameraType@SpeedLimit,CameraDirection
147.770657,-35.239315,SpeedCam@60,180
150.892150,-34.389797,School@40
150.899574,-34.414886,Red Light@60
I have sound files of speedcam.wav, school.wav and red light.wav, but these are not used. What might be the issue please ?
Thanks.
Bruce.
Only wav files named fixed.wav and mobile.wav are recognised. You can change the sounds in the files but not the names
Instal Python in phone memory
delete language file in speedcam folder and download replacement
